statement on privilege and accountability
I recognize that I am a soul born into a body that has been given immense privilege at the expense and safety of other bodies. I am committed to the lifelong process of dismantling oppressive systems in all areas of life, both internally and externally, and I am committed to using my privilege to engage this process. As a teacher and as an entrepreneur, I am committed to creating a system of transparency and accountability around my work so that I can continue finding alignment with the greater movement for justice.
Where am I at with that right now? Well, not that far, because I'm just at the beginning of figuring out who I even am (learn what I mean by that in my bio/life story here). But my intention is to find multiple, creative, abundant ways to redistribute resources of various types to people in bodies that have it much harder in the world than I do. I already do this in some ways that I don't plan on making public, but what I want to create is a way to be transparent and accountable when it comes to "business". I want to have an answer I feel confident in if someone asks me how tf I justify myself as a white "spiritual influencer".
And... I really just want to try something. I have witnessed so many successful white people shut down hard and fast when perceived conflict comes up between their current apolitical way of doing business, and the shifts they'd need to make to be proactively moving towards justice. But it doesn't have to be this way! I believe there are ways of operating with integrity as a privileged person that are abundant and joyful. It may be a messy process to figure out what works, but that is exactly what I'm here for. I will be updating this page with specifics as I feel called.
